We believe worship is about the whole of life, not just the bits you might expect to find in church services on a Sunday, so we reach out to people of all faiths or none by supporting these holistic initiatives.
Stonegrove Estates' Youth Project
The Stonegrove Estates’ Youth Project was initiated by local stakeholders in 2006 in response to the murder of Kiyan Prince. The project has been helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and enhance the life chances of young people by delivering free community youthwork which provides a positive alternative to involvement in gangs.
The project is grant funded by John Lyons Trust, Peabody Trust and Young Barnet Foundation. Since 2008 the project has been managed by Edgware Parish through St Peter’s Church and this has ensured its sustainability through difficult times.
St Peter's Pantry
Since 2009 St Peter’s has been providing non-judgemental emergency relief when people need it most. At the end of 2023 we are providing food support for up to 227 people monthly. For comparison, in the second quarter (August) 2023 the total was 183 and across 2022 the total was 83.
We operate a weekly timed collection service on Tuesdays from 1.00pm to 3.00pm but because we live next to the church people also turn up at different times or contact us by phone or knock on our door late in the evenings.
We do not insist on proof of need because we try to help people keep their dignity. That is why we also try to give people agency by asking them what they want rather than presenting them with pre-made packets.
Because we are small and focussed we are also able to offer other practical and pastoral care which is vital for people’s wellbeing.

Christmas Lunch On Jesus
Since 2009 we have joined with Jesus House to deliver hampers containing the ingredients of a full Christmas Lunch to local residents in need. This has helped people on low income share our joy at the birth of Jesus and turn the stress of Christmas into a real celebration, often with family and friends.

Stonegrove and Spur Road Community Group Bingo
We support the Stonegrove and Spur Road Community Group’s regular bingo sessions on the first Saturday of each month because we believe this helps reduce social isolation.

St Peter's Stay and Play
St Peter’s Stay and Play is a lively, caring community for parents, grandparents, carers and of course babies and toddlers. Our drop in sessions run from 10.00am to 12.00 every Wednesday during term time.
