We believe worship is about the whole of life, not just the bits you might expect to find in church services on a Sunday, so we reach out to people of all faiths or none by supporting these holistic initiatives.
Stonegrove Estates' Youth Project
The Stonegrove Estates’ Youth Project was initiated by local stakeholders in 2006 in response to the murder of Kiyan Prince. The project has been helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and enhance the life chances of young people by delivering free community youthwork which provides a positive alternative to involvement in gangs.
The project is grant funded and John Lyons Trust are currently the major funders. Since 2008 the project has been managed by Edgware Parish through St Peter’s Church and this has ensured its sustainability through difficult times.
Contact Katie (firstname.lastname@example.org) for details of our programmes.
St Peter's StoreCupboard
St Peter’s StoreCupboard is our hyper-local foodbank. It provides non-judgemental emergency relief when people need it most.
We gratefully accept donations of long-dated, non-perishable food from organisations and individuals who want to bless people in need.
Contact Daniel (email@example.com) for details or speak to Rev Simon during his office hours on Mondays in OneStonegrove or at church on Sundays.
Christmas Lunch On Jesus
Since 2009 we have joined with Jesus House to deliver hampers containing the ingredients of a full Christmas Lunch to local residents in need. This has helped people on low income share our joy at the birth of Jesus and turn the stress of Christmas into a real celebration, often with family and friends.
St Peter’s Stay and Play is a lively, caring community for parents, grandparents, carers and of course babies and toddlers. Our drop in sessions run from 10.00am to 12.00 every Wednesday during term time.
For details contact Margit Rea on 07758 240 817.
Art from the Heart
In partnership with the Stonegrove Community Trust we encourage people of all ages to discover their inner artist through regular drop in water colour teaching on Saturdays from 3.30pm to 7.00pm with Art from the Heart.
On the last Sunday each month we offer therapeutic art for wellness after Sunday services.
For details about both activities, please contact Daniel at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07455 969 035 or Zsazsa on 07474 027 340.
